We just started introducing sign language to Callie at her speech therapy sessions. During these appointments we introduce signs and sounds to her through play. This week she surprised us by immediately picking up the sign for "baby". She was shown a book with pictures of babies and then shown the sign. She immediately started imitating her therapist and we were amazed! It was yet another moment that brought me to tears. Here is our baby signing "baby" for the first time:

Caring for Callie
This is a mommy's journal about her very special baby girl. Callie has a rare neurological disorder called bilateral perisylvian polymicrogyria (PMG). She has also experienced infantile spasms and has been diagnosed as failure to thrive. Callie currently battles seizures, eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) & apraxia of speech, and has a G tube.

Oh I love it! I must have watched it 5 times in a row. She just makes my heart melt.
She is just so adorable! Watching this brought tears of joy to my eyes.
